Self-toss clap catch

This drill builds soft hands and eyes-on-ball under a clean vertical flight you control.

What good looks like

  • Hands up with fingers spread and thumbs close
  • Eyes stay on the ball until the fingers have it

The drill

  1. Stand tall, ball in two hands at your chest.
  2. Toss the ball straight up just above head height.
  3. Clap once while the ball is in the air, then catch it with fingers spread, thumbs close.
  4. Watch the ball all the way into your hands every rep. Add claps as it gets easy.

Space

3m x 3m flat area, one ball.

Make it harder / make it easier

Harder. Two claps, then a full turn between toss and catch.

Easier. Lower the toss to eye height, no clap.

How to film it
