Pass on the move

This drill carries passing accuracy into running, the game's actual picture.

What good looks like

  • Two hands while running
  • Shoulders turn to the target while the feet keep their line
  • Pass in front of the imagined receiver

The drill

  1. Set a 10 meter running channel with a gate on one side at the halfway point.
  2. Jog the channel with the ball in two hands. As you draw level, pass through the gate without breaking stride.
  3. Collect the ball, return down the channel, and pass the other way so both sides work.
  4. Build from jog to three-quarter pace only when the gate stops missing.

Space

15m x 8m flat area, one ball, four cones.

Make it harder / make it easier

Harder. Narrow the gate, raise the pace, or add a second gate for a pass both ways in one run.

Easier. Walk the channel and pause at the gate before releasing.

How to film it

Prop the phone at the end of the channel, whole run and gate in one frame. How to film a drill.
